1. However, any time we ever had to go to the lobby or concierge for anything, we were always greeted warmly and given whatever help we needed.

This resort hotel has almost everything you need for a Hawaiian experience: location and setting, an appreciation of esthetics, a magical and safe water experience for children, a professional staff, including terrific concierge service, some interesting food, and a good starting point for the volcano experience.
