1. A large crowd of young italians were asking for Carlo, the manager, who was always ready to help and repeat the whattodoes, while the breakfast resisted the assault of an important number of international and national guests afraid of spending few dollars of the budget before noon.

2. When we said we were in town to celebrate my husband's 64th birthday, the manager had a bottle of wine and two glasses sent up to our room--and it was pretty darn good wine, too.

3. I was given a room nearby the manager's office and naturally I woke up at 8 AM everyday as that's when the manager comes to work and stride up and down the corridoor.
