6. Overall I wouldn't pay through the nose for this hotel, it ticks most of the boxes but lacks the cooler edge of most other W Hotels and there is plenty of good competition in San Francisco to choose from but if you get a good rate then I would give it a try.

7. But consider this: we then went to LA where we stayed at The London in West Hollywood, and for $30 more, we had a room more than twice the size, continental breakfast for two included in the rate, newspapers, complimentary internet access (valet parking was $32).

8. Since it's not a 5-star hotel, don't expect down-everything or 900 count sheets but for not being astronomically expensive, the attention to detail and the help from the staff is first rate.
