1. My room was the most basic available, and being only on the third floor (so I could walk up the marble stair case to get to it for some good incidental exercise, or the lifts were perfectly fine too) was a bit dark in the daytime, but I wasn't spending any time there in the day, so was totally unconcerned.

2. The hotel is in such a good location and is only a quick walk to Union Square, the Powell-Mason Cable Car, the BART and the huge Westfield shopping centre.

4. The + points: great central location made it easily accessible with just a short walk to Westfield, Union Square, Market Street etc. A longer but still comfortable walk would bring you to Embacadero.

The location is perfect as I planned to have some shopping that evening, it is within walking distance from the Bart station and shops including Gap kids, Old Navy and Banana Republic, etc. The hotel made me feel good as I checked in during the happy hour when they got free wine tasting at the lobby area.
