3. We visited China Town (3 blocks) North Beach with fabulous Italian Food and Pubs (about 10 blocks) Union Square (right around the corner) we toured Alcatraz ( a bit of a walk but we survived ) and the Ferry Building too (just a few blocks away).

7. Bath situation is a little cramped, street noise can be pretty significant, and food options are pretty limited (sushi only, best as I could tell, though I'm not a big user of room service).
