7. The neighborhood feels quite safe, but within about five blocks south and west, it can deteriorate rapidly, but this is San Francisco, so it's a good idea to watch your belongings wherever you go.

10. The hotel is centrally located to everything (2 blocks from BART/train, near Chinatown, short walk to Union Square, trolley lines, shopping, drug stores, even on Sunday this downtown neighborhood had a lot of activity going on and shops and restaurants open late).
