1. The budget rooms may be small, but they are so cleverly designed that they never feel cramped, and the renovation of the hotel has retained the wonderful character of the original architecture---including the wonderful deep plunge tubs available in the shared bathrooms.

7. To save money, I book a single room w/ shared bath, which I'll admit was a bit off-putting at first, but to my delight, I was happy to find that the shared accommodations were very clean - both the water closet (toilet) and tub/shower room.

8. The large, old fashioned tub was a plus (could fit two romantically or you could just stand in it and take a shower) and the windows even opened to let in the fresh air.
