We were asked by one of the other guests why we chose to stay here as it isn't really close to the traditional tourist attractions but as we are quite happy to

a little way (only about 10 down to Union Square - bit longer coming back uphill.

The hotel is within

ing distance of Japantown and has good public transportation (and a morning shuttle), but it is a bit too distant from Union Square to justify 'near Union Square' listing.

The location was not bad if you like to
walk
, its about a 40 minute
walk
downhill to Fisherman's wharf which we did and on our way back took the 'muni' #47 or # 49 which leaves you a short distance from the hotel.
