1. The hotel had been pre-paid as it was thru price-line (who did agree to refund my money but could not get me a replacement room at the same rate on such short notice), but at that point I no longer cared about the money, and we packed our bags and left.

2. I was told a storm had 'knocked out' the boiler the night before and the hotel was sorry for the inconvenience - an inconvenience that they were unwilling to offer a partial refund or coupon for.

3. They did refund the money later, but it made me wonder, if they had any right to charge me, as I was informed by my travel agent, that I would pay for the room when I was leaving.
