1. The location was great, close to the subway on Delancy Street, and a reasonable bus service to midtown.

2. Spitzers Corner Bar, just a few steps up the street is great for people watching and the bar staff in there are great fun.

3. The hotel is in an area that is still a bit dicey, and it is filthy dirty--it does not look anything like the streets or sidewalks in the nicer areas of town.

7. Rivington street has some nice little bars and restaurants but the rest of Manhattan, the 'touristy' things are not really in walking distance.

9. I know some other reviewers have commented on noise / disturbances but for us the biggest plus point was that our high floor room was a real oasis of calm from the frenetic streets of New York.

10. the 8th is a lower floor, but I did not hear much noise from the street and once you shut the curtains, the room is a cocoon.
