3. Everything was better than expected - from the location right in the heart of Soho, to the chic decor, to the ambiance, to the attentiveness of the staff (not too little or too much) to all the room extras - no charge for most of the honor bar items (except the alcohol of course).

4. But do you really want to stay at The Mercer Hotel knowing that if there is a problem, the management will side against you regardless of the facts -- and charge you dearly for the experience.

5. Not really acceptable when you charge 600 usd per night- there is no spa and no fitness center (you are given a pass to the Equinox around the corner)To summarise, this is an overpriced hotel and there are probably much better alternatives if you are prepared to walk a little bit.
