1. An earlier post noted that street parking is free after 6 PM till 8 AM the next morning (I didn't confirm that this is still the case).

Our arrival was a bit crazy, we were driving in a rental car from Portland on a Friday, unfortunately the delays in traffic ended up putting us downtown at 5:00, the charge on my phone which we were using to navigate us to the Westin was about to die, the gas tank was below empty and we turned the corner to see the Westin on the other side of the rode on a one way street, the nice people in Seattle let us get all the way over, we parked in the taxi zone, my husband parked and went inside, fearing we literally were going to run out of gas.

The location is excellent: 1) Safe neighborhood (I was at ease walking our kids at night), 2) 5 blocks from Pike Place Market, 3) 15 minute walk to the Seattle Center and Space Needle (you could also take the monorail across the street that will take you directly there), 4) Across the street from Seattle's shopping district (and great restaurants like the infamous Top Pot doughnuts), 5) Across the street is the Light Rail station which takes you to and from the airport so you won't need a car and pay the high parking prices ($22/night), if you rely on these great (and clean) Seattle transportation.
