1. We missed the maid service numerous days, but on one particular day we had a note stuck under our door saying that if we wanted our room clean, to let the front desk staff know before 2pm and they would contact the maid service to do it for us.

4. (2) The room door key never worked, and the hotel staff expects guests to go to their rooms and confirm that they key is not working (yet again), and then go all the way back to the front desk for a new key.

Upon check in, the hotel manager personally inspected our room to make sure it was up to his standards for cleanliness, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful (they even dried our clothes for us at no charge when the dryer broke halfway through doing our laundry), free breakfast was wonderful, and the hotel was in a quiet area only a 5 minute walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, or the Street Car to the Garden District.
