1. As with any downtown area I probably wouldn't walk alone b/c when you get about 2 minutes from the middle of the River Walk in downtown it's very quiet and there's no people around but you.

2. OK it isnt actually on the main river walk, with its loud noise, drunken people enjoying themselves, but being a little away thats great for me, and i would not walk along ANY city river walk in the world after dark, especially away from the main drag.
