3. The walk to downtown in the Riverwalk area is literally 2 blocks away and I walked there by myself at 8pm and felt very comfortable because it seemed there was always a lot of people around.

4. As with any downtown area I probably wouldn't walk alone b/c when you get about 2 minutes from the middle of the River Walk in downtown it's very quiet and there's no people around but you.

5. Our room' s balcony overlooked the Riverwalk and because we were not that near to the downtown nightlife, it was beautifully quiet and serene with lots of trees, flowers, and water birds swimming past.

8. We had a rental car since we were going back and forth to Lackland AFB but public transportation downtown is plentiful from the taxi to the trolley and there is so much to do in the heart of downtown we really didn't need the rental.
