1. At check-in, I explained it was my wife's birthday and we were given an upgrade to a great oceanfront suite (not to mention the complimentary bottle of wine they left us in our room).

2. As it turns out, internet access is complimentary for everyone, the continental breakfast was bare bones - no fresh fruit - and we decided to stay at the pool and take the short walk down to the beach whenver we wanted to go for a dip in the ocean (which was amazingly clear and refreshing).
