1. The Waikiki Gateway Hotel has the best rates in Waikiki, the location at the corner of Kuhio and Kalakaua is really the gateway to Waikiki and you walk across Fort DeRussy Park right to the beach in less than 15 minutes.

2. We stayed in a penthouse suite for 4 nights after booking through the hotel's website (to all you people that think you got a smoking deal through Living Social - you would have gotten a better rate if you had booked with the hotel directly).

10. After checking out we drove up to the north shore and planned to stay in a hostel but after realizing the place was a dump, we drove right back to this hotel and they gave us the same room at the same rate.
