1. Neighborhood had lots of places to eat nearby, but it's pretty dead at night even on the weekend (except the bars).

3. Cons: Small/slow elevator, possible street noise on some days (see comments about trucks in back), no restaurant /bar (although many choices in the area) older building ventilation (halls smelled/felt 'stuffy')was not happy with the 'value' I got on hotels.

4. It is also just down the street (2 blocks) from the Farragut North Metro station with lots of restaurants, bars, clubs nearby.

5. I didn't appreciate what it meant to be 8 floors above the bar until I returned to the room that night.

6. I switched from a front room to a back room because I couldn't fall asleep 2 a.m. or so (there is noise after bar closing as drunk patrons catch cabs.

7. The clerk said 'sure' and placed me in a room above the bar, one room away from the elevator and directly across the hall from a vending machine.

8. When I asked to move after 3 sleepless nights, I was first moved into a similarly situated front room above the bar, but of lower quality than the one I originally had (it made no sense!).

9. You can tolerate staying in this hotel IF you stay out until bar closing (in that case, request a front room) or if you like to get up very early.

10. I assume this is because many of the reviewers must have stayed out past bar closing and had front rooms.
