3. The apartment complex has little character and the rooms were very dated BUT the location was very quiet, there was a great view of LA from our bedroom window, a view of the Hollywood sign from the driveway and the best Japanese Restaurant right next door.

5. Check-in was very friendly, with loads of great advice offered to maximise our stay, including maps, restaurant tips and advice on how to get to places such as Universal Studios (one stop on the subway) and where best to view the famous Hollywood sign.

7. If you want to spend about $100 a couple with tax and tip try the Japanese at the top of the hill---Magic Castle made the reservation for me and got us a table with a fantastic view of LA.

8. The recommended restaurants were spot on every time - Yamoshiro has the most fantastic view of LA at night and had the added bonus of the free hotel shuttle taxiing us there and back.

9. free!- more than sufficient continental breakfast- free shuttle to yamashiro at hilltop, which has fantastic views, not to mention the nice surprise that Nic arranged for us- access to Magic Castle, which was fabulous- extremely friendly and helpful staffAnd this comes from someone who stayed at Hyatt at San Francisco, and Venetian at Vegas.

10. Plenty of restaurants nearby, but their own restaurant at the top of the hill is unbeatable for views, location and value- courtesy car up to the restaurant and return gratis.
