1. Upon arrival, he again apologized and said that room he told us we were moving to was given to another guest at that very moment while he was speaking with us on the phone (really - why bother to pull the computer system to find us an available room and not book it right away for us?) Then he led us to a tiny King room with a tiny bathroom (with a tub/shower combo with a slow drain that allowed us to take a bath and a shower all at one time) that had an ok view, but at least of the outdoors, and at that point we needed to get to our appointment for the evening.
"The Nines seems to be conflicted about being a luxury hotel " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/6/2012 Vote
2. When we arrived, the room looked beautiful on first look, but as we unpacked, we noticed the shower was dirty.
"Dirty Room, hot, not a luxury " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/31/2011 Vote
3. It was just a small tub with a shower, a little cramped for me even and I'm pretty petite.
"Hip place to stay " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/5/2011 Vote
4. Everything about our room just seemed a little grubby- the grout in the shower, the headboard, dusty lamps, stained up upholstery on the desk chair, spots on the wallpaper- not what I would expect from a five star hotel.
"Disappointed by The Nines " Read full review on TripAdvisor   5/28/2011 Vote
5. All surfaces in the room were covered with an inch of dust and dirty finger prints, and the shower was infested with black mold.

7. These flaws include: (1) a feather duvet provided but with no top sheet on the bed, so the guest must choose between the extremely warm duvet and no covering at all unless the guest specifically requests a top sheet; this is in the cause of being 'green,' but for us it led to an alternately hot/cold and mostly sleepless night before we wised up and obtained a normal top sheet and blankets for our second night; (2) no written information in the room about the hotel, including no price list for the mini bar that I could find; (3) cold marble bathroom floors with no rugs; (4) marble shower floor that is slippery when wet and soapy, with no rubber grip mat provided; (5) no shower cap; (6) no in-room coffee maker [yes, there is a Starbucks across the street and expensive coffee available from room service]; (7) stained/worn upholstery, surprising in such a new hotel; (8) inadequate signage to amenities such as ice, which is needed because all the 'cold' tap water is lukewarm; (9) only one bathrobe provided for 2 people; (10) no daily paper outside door; (11) valuables safe and drawers consuming most of the closet hanging space; (12) our room # 708 generally crammed with furniture, some of which appeared unnecessary (structure under TV) or not well chosen (cocktail table so much lower than arm of sofa that it was useless to rest a drink on); (13) weird drapery installation, which had me standing on the sofa to draw the black out shade; (14) lack of towel hooks next to shower, so you need to enter the cold bathroom dripping wet to grab a towel a couple of steps away; (15) mini-toilets, although the dual flush option is a nicely green feature.

8. We opted into their 'Green Room' program which we thought meant we'd keep our bed linens and towels for the stay, but during our week-long stay, no one came in to replace shower gel, used glassware, empty wastebaskets, or retrieve dirty linens we left on the floor as instructed.
"Some Hits, More Misses " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/16/2010 Vote
9. The bathroom was huge(sorry but another suggestion-the water pressure in the shower was very poor-the only fault in the room)with incredible towels.
"FANTASTIC in every way! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   3/13/2010 Vote
10. Nasty, ugly shower with horrible water pressure.
"Luxury Collection? Not really. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   2/11/2010 Vote
