1. I live in the country and expect to be bothered by 'city noise' at night--that was not the case here--perhaps because we were on the 9th floor? Quiet, restful place to sleep.

4. --tell front desk to send security (who did arrive promptly, and knew enough to stay close by to deal w another disruption)--if you can't go back to sleep, listen to the drunks next door take their showers and argue since the noise comes through--wait 2hrs before you drift back to sleep--wake up irritable.

5. A few drawbacks: hall and other room noise can be susbtantial; the bathrooms suck, no way around it (they are like late fifties early sixties 'ultra modern' so its really like your very own airline potty but with a bathtub).

7. even with earplugs i could not block out the noise and tossed and turned for hours trying to block out the noise which came every minute or so- it was like when one is forced to listen to a loud dripping tap for hours - torture when on is tired and desperately wanting to sleep.

10. My room was literally one of the first rooms as you exit the elevator and I didn't have any problems with noise from the elevators or people disrupting my sleep.
