8. We stayed here for 4 nights 04/02/12-04/06//12 for my birthday and my parents 10 year wedding anniversary , we had issues with a leaky fossit for two days after severall calls to get this fixed , after a few complains we got moved to a different room and got offered a free buffet for our party - once we moved we had to get back in the old room to grab some stuff we forgot and it took them over an hour to assist us ( half of my birthday morning wasted ) , the next morning i got a call from the front desk saying that we owe money for the buffet as we went over the limit of what was granted when i questioned them they could not explian still waiting for an awnser , the room wasnt cleaned properly stains on the towels and also the towels smelled burnt from the driers , the pool was a no go as theere was no space to sit or even relax , overall not a good stay or best service wont recommend this hotel for the price , weve previously stayed at golden nugget, excaliber, ballys and planet hollywood and i would highly reccomend one of these hotels , i work in the tourism industry at a 4.5star property and this is no way near the service level from Monte carlo to what it should be .

30. The carpets are filthy, the hallway walls have empty hooks (where some docoration once hung), some of the room number plaques are missing and the number has been written in marker on the wall, the ugly desk lamp is bolted to the desk (so you can't move it to have space to work), the TV's are old, the desk chair (and only chair in the room) is uncomfortable, the rooms smell musty.
|
31. So on our way to the room we noticed the hallways do have a strong smell of flowery carpet freshener (as mentioned in other reviews) its not that bad once you get used to it but it is a bit sickly.
|
32. I was not happy because the room smelled of smoke and I wanted a king size bed I decided I wanted another room on a non smoking floor (Im not usually one of those complainers but on this occasion after an 11 hour flight from the uk I wanted something a bit better)So back we went to reception and I explained the situation and apologised for being such a pain.

43. Stayed 2 nights at the Monte Carlo, Checked in on Feb 27th only to find that when we reached our room we were greeted with a smoke filled room, pillow proped up on the bed as if someone had just left, went directly back to the front desk passing by empty bar glasses and stained carpeting on out way to find out if our room was right, told the desk about the issue and she gave us another key to another room reaking of cigarettes and mentioned that this is part of the decor (rooms that smell like a bar room).

56. They did have a winter package with room credits for food, the spa (getting off on the spa floor there was an odor which smelled so bad I could not bring myself to use the spa there) and coupons for their food court, but as most of the hotels there are hurting right now, I am sure others had similar offers as well.
