1. The room (1428 in the tower closest to the lobby) was clean and the beds were comfortable though it smelled like a chlorine pool at first.
2. The rooms also regularly smelled of smoke and when i called down to the front desk nothing was done about it.
3. Every room and hall of the hotel smells like cigarrette.
4. The whole hotel, including our room, smelled of a puke, urine & feces cocktail covered up by new carpeting.
5. And the room was perfect, large, roomy, new and fresh smelling.
6. The entore hotel (room included) smelled like they pumped coconut oil and vanilla scent through the vents.

8. I was in a non smoking king room that actually smelled fresh.
9. -The room smelled sour and you cannot open the windows to get fresh air.
10. There was a rather strong perfume smell in the hallway that I could have done without but it didn't come into the room so I survived.

13. Pros:-Easy walk to MGM, Excalibur, etc-Comfortable, clean bedding-Good TV-Good room security-Non-smoking room didn't smell like smoke-Friendly staffCons:-No in room fridge-Club Tower is a bit of a hike from main hotel-Casino is very, very warm and has a strong 'tropical' smell-Thin walls-If noise bothers you, the nightclub below can be very loud.
14. However, I am happy to say our non-smoking room did not smell of cigarettes at all which was fantastic.
15. There's no arguing that the carpeting, bedspreads, etc., are new, but they could have spent a bit more time on the bathrooms (still showing some wear and tear), and although we requested Non Smoking rooms, you could tell by the smell that these were once smoking rooms.
16. We were glad that the windows opened in our room though because the smell of smoke would come in intermittently through the air conditioner.
17. the room smelled like a foot and the casino wait staff must have an average age of 60 plus.
18. All the common areas smelled like being at a beach and we had an extra daybed in our room.
19. Except for the smell of smoke coming from the room next door (which i would have complained about but we were only there for 1 night) eveything else was ok.
20. The room was a smoking room and did not smell of smoke.
21. We booked the Tropicana because of the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disapointed the hotel was absolutley fantastic, the rooms were very spacious and the hotel was very clean and tidy with a lovley smell where ever you went in the Hotel.
22. our stay at the tropicana hotel was fantastic ,the rooms were big and clean and the bed was so comfortable, in the hotel and corridors you always have this smell of coconut in the air,the staff were so freindly and cheerful, the hotel is in the right place on the strip to get to other hotels.
23. Rooms are nice and large, prices are good and no smoke smell (my favorite part).
24. My only critisism was, as I reported to the hotel, the smell of coconut oil was too strong (I know it is supposed to be tropical but it did get too much at times) luckily it was not in your rooms and only slightly in the corridors, it was very strong in reception and the casino but that was just a minor irritation.
25. The room (18th floor) we had for our first night was lovely, but we did notice the smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor (not in our room though).
26. Room was newish - bed most comfortable we have slept in and big TVLoved the smell around the hotel!very fresh and a nice change from the musty smell in alot of the hotels we walked aroundCheck out - friendly staff member and was smooth but I had already gone down and sorted out our bill the night before which took a while as they hadn't followed notes added to the system for us.

28. We had a city view room that was perfect, hotel had a lovely smell when you walked in.
29. The hotel did live up to the reviews--nicely remodeled rooms, pleasant smells throughout, good pool.

37. and, most importantly - the room smells good - NO SMOKE!whatever it is they pump thru the ventilation system in the casino.
38. Hotel has just had a full refurb you could smell the new paint, rooms are big and the most comfy beds ever, only draw back was lack of tea/coffee machine and a fridge would have come in useful we had to keep going to the ice machine in the corridor outside our room to keep our drinks cool, The location is good (south end of the strip) but beware when its hot like it was when we went ( 110 some days) it can be very tiring walking around and the temp didn't drop much at night but it gives you a chance to see what the other hotels have to offer, The food was pretty good at the hotel and starbucks came in useful for early morning cuppa.
39. My friend couldn't stand the cigeratte smell once we got in the room and we were moved again which took along time.

56. So, their big 'favor' was putting us in a room that smelled like smoke, looked over the airport, had a broken ceiling mirror on the ceiling with a bamboo frame, one of the towels in our room had been used, the sheets had a 'soil' stain on them, the comforter had been patched up with material from another comforter, the TV was from the 1980s, mold in the bathroom, broken air conditioning and someone tried walking into our room because they must have double booked it at the front desk.

67. As the depressing casino dazzles you with its flourescent lighting and occasional burnt-out bulbs, you'll be even more impressed with the smell in the room, a few months worth of film on your window, an unsoakable tub, dirty tile, and dazzling view of a silver tar roof, covered in roofing debris and buckets, and, oh yeah, a roofer.

72. Also that whole part of the hotel has a musty smell, especially our room.
73. The room was gross--in addition to the horrible grease smell, the carpet was stained a horrible brown color in three or four places, there was a huge gap under the door so lots of light came in and we could hear people in the hallway, and our 5th floor room was in the back with huge spotlights shining up the tower, so we had very bright light coming in around the edges of the curtains.
