1. I have stayed in fancier hotels, and certainly more expensive hotels, but I do not think I've ever stayed somewhere where the hotel and its fabulous staff become so much a part of what made the trip memorable.

7. The staff by the way were exceptionally friendly, self-described 'individual concierges' and they recommended a fabulous place for breakfast about a 15 minute walk away--Mother's--and a great dinner/jazz club--Jimmy Mak's(not sure of spelling).
