1. However, even if you're only visiting for a few days, it's nice to have a comfy spot like the Inn at Northrup Station to come home to.

2. Free salt water taffy, friendly staff, comfy, bright bedding, retro-looking furnishings and splashes of bright orange, purple, pink & green everywhere make what would otherwise be a bland hotel a pleasant place to be.

Mom, sis & I chose this hotel for our mother/daughter getaway weekend and were thrilled with everything about it from the moment we walked in the door: bright colors & decor; friendly staff; bowls of yummy taffy in the breakfast room/lobby; location (walking to great restaurants & boutiques in our favorite NW Portland neighborhood);free passes to streetcar that stops right in front of hotel; very comfy, spacious room for the 3 of us; great rooftop deck for afternoon wine, and great breakfast.
