3. My husband and I took the very comfortable queen bed in the loft (with the full bathroom) while the downstairs (with the half bath) easily accomodated our children in the large murphy bed and pull-out sofa.

8. These rooms are large, the bed is fabulously comfortable, fridge and microwave, Keurig coffee/tea maker, flat screen tv, shower with two shower heads, furnished very tastefully, lovely colors, natural wooden floor with wool area rug.

9. The prices are marginally higher than you might pay for some of the standard chains, but even the cheapest hotels in central Philadelphia are pretty expensive, so for a few dollars more it's worth getting the convenience, ambiance and comfort of the Independent.
