6. We were warned by friends to be careful on many of the streets, but staying at this hotel allowed us a very safe walk to and from the French Quarter and most of New Orleans area, even late at night.

7. Stick with the branded, franchised chains - at least they have standards and a clear way to get disputes taken care of if you run into problems with the property.

8. Is the 'boutique' charm of this place supposed to be the fact that it used to be an old coffee warehouse - or that no one cares about maintaining it safely now that it's a hotel? The 'continental breakfast' was sparse - yes, sparse.
