5. How do I know? Because I received identical responses within the space of 30 seconds, one addressed to me and one addressed to someone else and both sent to my email address.

6. Overall, despite their ultimately reasonable response to our initial problem, I find it difficult to recommend this hotel, principally because it isn't good enough to outweigh the need to run the gauntlet of drinkers and rough sleepers to go anywhere.

7. I didn't - and still don't - believe this but we sat around for about 45 minutes awaiting a call before we decided that we really had to go to bed, at which point my wife 'phoned the desk to enquire about no-shows and got an unreasonably curt response, essentially that we would have to see the manager in the morning.

8. I would recommend not to have a car since the hotel does not take responsibility of your belongings.
