1. It's simple accommodations without a lot of fuss and there's a lot to be said for clean and convenient.

2. The exterior is banal in the extreme, but the Holiday Inn people have done a good job in making the interior as pleasant as possible; even if it has no special character or style, this hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the amenities are up to business hotel standards.
