1. If you want to eat cheaply you can eat at the Harbour Mall - it has a good Thai restaurant, A pizza place (also serves huge serves of good ice cream) and a Mexican place as well.

4. The leaflet said John Wayne stayed here while filming and this is exactly the feel you got, funky 50s/60s, which I really enjoyed, I feel a good vibe both in the room, which was huge, and the pool area, immersed in the lush mountains.
