1. I'd gladly stay at the Aloha Surf again based on its reasonable rates and good location, but I'd be way happier if Lance was removing gum from the sidewalk or cleaning bathrooms rather than screwing up reception.

2. A desk clerk should be able to reason and multitask without turning snippy and snarly, but Lance couldn't even task, and he was surly as well as incompetent.

5. very old fashioned, needs a lot of updating, we were on the 12th floor, Room was very small, room was very Noisy, windows were like glass vertical blinds, they didn't close tight, there was a gap in them that stayed open, that was the reason for all the noise.

7. There is a vending machine that sells beverages at a somewhat reasonable price and a machine that has free regular coffee or $1 fancy coffee drinks.

8. I visited this hotel for 10 nights at the start of February - my boyfriend and I (both in our early 30s) were first time visitors to Waikiki and managed to get this hotel for a reasonable rate so we weren't sure what to expect.

9. It's within walking distance of cool waikiki shops (pretty much the only reason we'd hang out in waikiki), close to the beach and other nicer beachfront hotels that have lovely bars you can easily walk down to and get a cocktail at sunset.
