3. The poolside service could be a little better staffed, so be prepared to wait a while for someone to come by and take your drink order.

4. They have an awesome on site luau which I think was the best on kaanapali- we saw a few minutes of the Westins and ours was 10x better.

5. Although location wise, Westin was better as it is right next door to the Whaler's Village and closer to Black Rock for those who like to do some snorkeling, Hyatt Regency wins my vote because of its layout.

7. TIP: Avoid rooms 201, 301, 401, etc when booking - you will regret it if you don't as these are arguably the worst rooms you can get here (and I have had better sleep in a Motel 6, believe me.

8. Within 20 minutes we were being moved to a new room with a better view (but a queen bed which kind of sucked, oh well).
