We had no issues at check in and while they didn't upgrade us (SPG Gold), we did receive
free
internet and a 4PM late checkout.

The W DC does have a cool program that if you sign up for their 'green' option, WiFi is
free
(the 'green' option is where the maid does not change your linens, make the bed, or touch the room at all).

free

The hotel has a partnership with Acura, and Acura advises that they will take you anywhere you want to go in DC,
