2. The staff went out of their way to be pleasant and friendly with us and our two teens, helping with band-aids, museum discounts and general directions, cabs, etc.

3. The grab and go breakfast is nicely done and very generous, as this sort of thing goes - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fruit, yoghurt, lots of cereals (including Kashi - another hotel first for me and much appreciated.

4. Capitol Hill Suites is a good combination of reasonable price for a fairly generous space plus an easy walk to the Capitol grounds and that end of the Mall, also across the street from the Library of Congress (ideal for someone working there for a few days).

7. I know this was an isolated attitude, but that got to my nerves and (along with the room/breakfast shortcomings) influenced my general impression and rating of the Capitol Hill Suites.

8. Rooms are generally quiet which is a priority for me, and have free high speed internet.

10. Other than this issue, and having no hot water the first night while it was in the 20s and 30s outside, generally our stay was satisfactory.
