1. The staff, by the way, was just great with the exception of one gentleman who seemed to think it was more important to be 'important' and right than to be of genuine considerate service.

4. With the exception of a pool and in-house restaurant, everything is there from wi-fi, to in-room refrigerators, a lovely breakfast, a small fitness center, modern rooms, flat screen TVs, and a friendly staff willing to help.

The hotel is two or three blocks from the Congress in Capitol Hill, but if you don't go after it you won't really notice the proximity, as is very common in Washington because the city is almost perfectly flat and the buildings are not tall, so it's not like you can see every point of interest from a distance (except the Monument).

7. For the rest of my stay, I kept my luggage and all other possessions in the bathroom, and mostly in the tub (except when I needed to shower).

9. That is to say, they're not really suites in the conventional sense of the word, except for their most expensive deluxe class of room, so it defeated the purpose of staying at a 'suites hotel'.
