1. I was going to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant, just for conveniences sake, but after the cocktails arrived 20 minutes after the almost inedible oysters (full of grit, lukewarm, and a tasteless variety - only type offered), we decided to go elsewhere.

2. It is a convenient taxi ride to most places; the Mall, Dept of Agriculture and main Smithsonian building are 3 blocks away (as is the Smithsonian Metro station).
