Washington DC often seems to be overlooked as a place to visit but apart from being a nice city itself and a delightful place to be, it has staggeringly good museums offering something for everyone that you will not be able to see the like of anywhere else in the world and which will be exciting even for people who say 'I don't do museums'.

3. The hotel is modern and fresh and comfortable to walk into: the foyer is spacious but with enough comfortable seating to make it pleasant to wait in and nice details like the flower arrangements which were worth a look just in themselves and enhanced at night with candles.

4. Our room was comfortable and the frosted glass between the shower and toilet and again between the toilet and sinks brought a nice natural light into an area that otherwise could have been dark.

5. Closer at hand, it's a nice area to be in with plenty of bars and restaurants and broad streets with handsome buildings and fine trees and gardens: very comfortable to walk around.

6. Polite and quick check in, basic king room has pretty plantation shutters, very comfy bed, aromatherapy bath products and nice free coffee set up in lobby in the morning.
