1. Food and service were good but there were not many diners so it's hard to say what it would be like when busier.

6. When I inquired, in person, myself, I asked the manager, how I could make sure that my family got a room very close to the lobby, since my mother is 85 and has a hard time walking very far.

7. If people in adjacent rooms are loud talkers or door slammers, it could make it hard to sleep, but I find this to be the case in many hotels.

9. I did have a problem with my bathroom light, the maintenance guy was very nice and tried hard to fix it, to no avail, but they provided a lamp which worked well and the hotel 'comped' me for a night which I wasn't expecting.

We didn't use many of the facilities amenities available to us, such as the exercise room, the restaurant, massages, etc etc, thats just not the way we travel, but for a clean, pleasant, relaxing environment, located centrally and easily accessible to things like Old Towne, Sea World, the zoo and Balboa park, and Petco park, Kona Kai is hard to beat.
