1. To their credit, the customer service was outstanding so it was hard to complain, but I feel mislead when I made the reservation.

2. hard Rock is great, Se is fantastic, but the location of the W just outside of the gaslamp madness and conveniently located next to Karl Strauss brewery it does not get much better.

We had checked out of the hard Rock ( it was horrid) and had to trawl around to find another Hotel with rooms available, we were just beginning to despair when we arrived here, they gave us a front corner room( only one on each floor) it was very light and very large, the furnishings were of a high quality and seemed new.

9. This is a hotel that is trying too hard to be hip but is simply not - it is lowest grade of W hotels and does only damage to their brand, it was the worst of any westin / W hotel stay that i had - highly recomend to look elsewhere.

10. The place was full of crazy people and drunks during the 2011 NY's eve, but the staff were amazing, all pro, all calm, and all working hard, even the manager, Stefan, was taking food to the rooms at one point, this is no doubt the best place out of home where it just feels like home.
