1. So be prepared for a bad nights sleep unless you can ignore a freight train passing within 20 yards of the hotel.

3. This was really important as I heard that in other hotels where this isn't the case, it really got bad when the AC's went down.

6. Now there are some reviews here complaining about noise but I did not find it a problem as it was not that bad and I did use earplugs as I always do when ever I stay in a city.

8. the good:comfortable bedexcellent service mccormick and schmick restaurant is consistently fresh and goodsooo close to the convention center the bad:bathrooms in room are worn out - stained, cracked tile - rust stains in sinkbathroom offers no privacy - has a semi private sliding door - feels as if you are in the bedroomthe lighting.

9. I don't know if the noise level is this bad in other parts of the hotel, but if you must stay here, definitely request a room that faces the Gaslamp and not the Convention Center.
