Portland always seems to be a surprisingly
expensive
place to stay - and if fancy is what you want, there are plenty of other choices.

What we didn't like: the noise, thin walls,
expensive
parking, lack of individual AC and heat units in each room, although they tried to help this situation by providing a fan and space heater.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay and am glad I didn`t pay to stay in a more
expensive
hotel in the downtown area (I wasn`t very impressed with downtown as I thought I would be).

I initially wanted to stay in the downtown area but it`s fairly
expensive
and I think staying in this part of Portland is a good alternative if you`re on a budget.

When we returned to the hotel and spoke with the general manager he comped our first night (of three) for the inconveniences caused by his staff, but stated that he did not want to pay for anything else including any of the medical
expens
es incurred from the fall.
