3. I find it to be a tasteful, gracious and soothing place to stay, with crown moldings and such that you don't tend to find in newer hotels.

5. It really annoys me when people complain of room size for this type of hotel, the size was perfect for us and what we expect and the details of the room, eg: crown molding and giant windows are such a bonus.

It was one of my favorites as the unpretentious and slightly tatty Mallory and now, with a new-found sense of Hollywood pizazz and a renovation that saved what should have been saved (moldings, gilt, Driftwood Room) and got rid of that which had passed its sell-by date, the Hotel deLuxe is even more firmly ensconced in my traveller`s heart.
