1. There is a charge for WiFi unless you're attending a meeting (or say you are) and a $25 valet parking fee, which you can avoid if you're willing to feed a meter every hour 15 or if you arrive after 7 and the next day is a Sunday or a holiday.

2. There is one hotel surface parking lot right across the street (the other is a multi-level structure nearby) and the parking valets are agreeable to putting your car just in the surface lot if you tell them you are going to need it again soon, thereby avoiding the long delays in car retrieval that I have experienced at some other Portland hotels in the past.

4. My husband and I live locally in Portland and booked a room last minute for New Years Eve to avoid driving and wanted to enjoy a night in the city.

5. The trolley runs nearby, so it's possible to arrive and take that into town from the airport and avoid taxis and car rentals.
