When we set up the pullout couch the bottom of the mattress was black with what looked like
mold
but I could not be sure as it could have just been soiled.

My kids had a hard time sleeping comfortably on the pull out and I suspect there was a lot of
mold
growth in the room as my one child, who has asthma, had to get up twice in the middle of the night to do a treatment.
