After spending more time outside the lobby trying to figure out what we would do, we discovered the other guest had the same issue and that's when we knew it was a criminal act; so, all of us went back into the lobby and to front desk and thankfully, a nice young man (I didn't catch his name, unfortunately) was there who actually cared.
