1. With all that being said, and I know it may be hard to believe, but we had no real issues with the room.

5. While the carpet in this room was somewhat better, the walls were dirty and in need of paint, the mattress in need of replacement, the shower had a good deal of mold and the water temperature never got above tepid, and the television (no flat screen) was so blurry it was hard to watch.

The (kinda sorta) cons - the entrance and lobby of the hotel are very luxurious and really set up your expectations so the rooms feel like a big disappointment; I would have liked to see some protein at breakfast (even just a hard-boiled egg); the bedrooms were nice and quiet but if you slept in the front room of the suite, you could hear everything and everyone in the hallways (I an imagine this being a huge issue during Mardi Gras), and the staff was polite but not really friendly.
