1. 'The room itself also had problems: a stuck sink drain (which I fixed myself), dead batteries in the door lock (delayed me another 20 minutes), missing light bulbs in the bedside lamp (shock hazard for small children) and a missing smoke detector (serious violation of Dallas fire code).

2. I travel extensively and was shocked by the condition of this hotel, especially when I visited friends in the Hyatt a few blocks away, which was clean, and cost less.
