1. And they definitely didn't seem happy that I wanted it on every night, but unfortunately I was very unlucky and experienced very cold weather and almost constant rain in San Francisco, so I wanted heating on.

The room was beautiful but missing a few of the creature comforts we are used to from more modern hotels (although these went almost unnoticed as it was more of a novelty staying in such a lovely old hotel) The mini bar was very well stocked but the heating was an old oil heater contraption which unfortunately made the room either too hot or too cold, the bath was missing a plug so could only be used as a shower, and after a cold and wet visit out to Alcatraz all I really wanted was a hot bath.

5. unfortunately we also stayed in a room next to the elevator so it was not a quiet night needless to say.

7. The Beresford is also unfortunate enough to employ a couple of staff members who are rude, surly and completely unhelpful and are a discredit to those employees who were polite and accommodating to guests.
