First of all the people that work (not all but most) are the most

Yes, the carpets have an
unpleasant
smell but if you buy an air freshener the problem is solved, in your room at least.

The room was a good size and so was the bathroom but there was a musty and
unpleasant
smell emanating from the window in the bathroom which meant the window stayed firmly shut during our stay.

In defence of the hotel I later found out this is an environmentally friendly cleaning agent, it is

I can forgive a lot of

things while staying in budget hotels, but there is no excuse in any class of hotel for bad customer service.
