1. It is difficult to explain the impact of the pervasive serenity and calm in prose, but perhaps an allegorical reference might suffice: You could play golf at either or both the Experience and Challenge and it wouldn't matter if you shot 73 or 93.

2. Only two things bugged us: we had to call the front desk and have them get engineering to turn off the heating and AC - it could not be done in the room - and it was difficult to change the channels on the TV (a common hotel problem).
"Old-world elegance in the cool highlands of Lanai " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/20/2012 Vote
3. This hike - not difficult unless you are really out of shape -- was better than any of the jeep trips we took.
"Very beautiful experience but misses the meticulous service of other Four Seasons. " Read full review on TripAdvisor   1/23/2012 Vote
4. We were here a few years ago and obvious improvements have been made to the service, a difficult task on Lanai we imagine.

5. 5 hour hike up to Koloiki Ridge while we were there, which had great views, despite the fog, and was a pleasant, moderately difficult hike.
"Serene escape with great amenities " Read full review on TripAdvisor   4/4/2009 Vote
6. We thought the service was very good, given the fact that most of the employees used to be pineapple plantation workers, and we understand that it must be difficult for the Four Seasons to entice employees to move to Lanai, as there is not much going on there.
